Welcome to Stirred By God
My name is Marsha Mixon, and I’m the baker behind Stirred By God. Every loaf and baked good I create is stirred with love, faith, and a passion for health.
My Story
For years, I followed a strict keto lifestyle, but eventually I faced health struggles—weight gain, hormonal imbalance, poor gut health, and thyroid issues.
On top of that, my MTHFR genetic mutation made it harder for my body to process many foods. Keto had helped for a season, but I longed for bread—the kind that not only tasted good but also nourished the body.
I was also gluten sensitive, and like so many others, eating bread left me bloated and miserable.
Discovering sourdough changed that. Natural fermentation and organic imported flour made bread easier to digest and gentler on the gut.
For the first time in years, I could enjoy bread again—without paying the price of discomfort. Out of that healing and joy, Stirred By God was born.
What Makes My Baking Different
- No Commercial Yeast: I use a wild sourdough starter, never shortcuts.
- Slow Fermentation: Long fermentation breaks down gluten and starches, making bread easier to digest.
- Wholesome Ingredients: I bake with imported organic flour and natural honey as a preservative. No dyes, no preservatives—just real food.
- Health Inspired: Many who are normally sensitive to gluten (myself included) can enjoy my bread without bloating or discomfort.
Why Sourdough?
Sourdough is more than bread—it’s nourishment. It has a lower glycemic index, supports gut health, and delivers incredible flavor and texture. For me, it was the answer to enjoying bread again without compromising my health.

Faith and Purpose
The name Stirred By God reflects more than just a bakery—it reflects my faith. I believe food should nourish the body and the soul, and I see baking as a way to serve others with purpose and love.
My Location
I bake from my home and have a cozy storefront in Moncks Corner (inside the former storage office—not the units!).
It serves mostly as a rain-out and seasonal space, fully open as a retail location from Thanksgiving through March.
How to Order
- Pre-Order Online: Pickup Thursdays 3–7 at the Moncks Corner Farmers Market.
- If rained out, pickup is available at the storefront 3–6.
- Walk-ins are welcome whenever I’m open—check Facebook for current hours and events.
